WORD The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted! Psalm 18:46 THOUGHT Certainly, we could all agree that the planet we live on has more places, things, and life within it than we could possibly visit in a lifetime. Even our technology-filled world that allows instant access and seemingly unlimited information still doesn’t allow us to absorb all the earth contains—it’s simply beyond our ability to take it all in. Consider, though, that our planet—with all its vast, changing, expanding, and moving elements—gains all its energy, beauty, and regenerating ability from a single source: the living God! People may attempt to control or harness the earth’s resources, but the living Lord spoke the entire universe into being and continues to generate its ability to continue. He alone is in control. The Lord is eternal: he lives, has lived, and will ever live. Before the creation of the world, he was there, every bit as strong and loving as he ever has been. He is the immovable rock, the foundation of certainty, the God who delivers everlasting life. He is the God of my salvation, the God of our salvation. Because he lives, life continues. He holds everything in his hands. PRAYER You live, Lord; you live and reign, forever. You are my Rock, the God of my salvation. Amen. Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
