WORD ...but we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness. 2 Peter 3:13 THOUGHT God’s kingdom is forever! For those whose hope is in God, no words could rightly express the excitement of the Christian for the arrival of the new heavens and earth. We will be able to see, hear, and feel the tangible and the mystical, the natural and the supernatural, concurrently. Although curiosity and speculation abound as to what the experience will be like in God’s realm of limitlessness, we know there will be no more death, disease, or discord. We will not grow tired, we will not experience pain, we will not be tempted by the enemy. And earth’s current physical laws and principles will be governed by God’s infinite and unlimited power and ability. However, none of these amazing things is the main attraction for the believer in Christ. Instead, we are filled with excitement at the promise of his eternal presence, to experience worship in his future kingdom, to eternally be where his righteousness fills every place. Lord, may your kingdom come! PRAYER Father, I look forward to the time when your righteousness and your presence fill the new heavens and the new earth eternally. May you use me as your vessel to bring a glimpse of that kind of peace, hope, and goodness to my community today. Amen. May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven
